I have today launched the inaugural Draeger Apprentice of the Year Award. The winner will be selected by a panel and will be announced at the Blyth Valley Apprenticeships Fair 2023 in Cramlington on 10th February.
I am delighted that global energy giant RWE has chosen Port of Blyth as their base whilst they build the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm. This will bring important new jobs to our area and further cements our position as a global centre for the Renewable Sector.
My week didn’t have the best start when my early morning train to London was cancelled. There had been a theft of cables on the East Coast main line, so I wasn’t alone in having my train cancelled and those trains that were running were extremely busy and subject to delays. I eventually made it

This week was unusual for me, in that I wasn’t on the train on Monday morning. There was a one-line whip on Monday, which means I am not required in Westminster to vote, so I was able to have an additional day in the constituency. I spent the day catching up with the team in my Blyth office and
