The week began with a Ministerial visit to Blyth from the Secretary of State for Transport Mark Harper following the Rail Minister's visit a few weeks ago. The Northumberland Line is now fast becoming a reality with the announcement of the final money being released to complete the project.
It was a pleasure to welcome Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to Blyth last Thursday as he announced another £20m investment in the town.
Last week I hosted the second Blyth Valley Apprenticeships Fair with almost 40 employers offering training and jobs opportunities and I am pleased to say it was a huge success.
The Levelling Up White Paper was published with a great fanfare in February last year and since then we have had two new Prime Ministers and three new Chancellors. MHCLG has become DLUHC and Michael Gove is back at its helm.
